The following goals were formulated at the time GAJE was first being organized, and have remained central to the organization's mission throughout its history.
To facilitate international information sharing and collaboration on justice education. GAJE maintains this web site (www.gaje.org) and a general information mailing list open to the public. In addition, it maintains a number of members-only services with which members cann communicate, including an email "listserv" and various online forums.
To serve as a clearinghouse of teaching methods and materials. This is done primarily at GAJE conferences (see below) and through the "Resources" page on this website.
To convene global conferences on justice education at locations accessible and affordable for persons from developing countries. For information about GAJE conferences to date, from the inaugural conference held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India in December 1999 to the 10th Worldwide conference held in Bandung, Indonesia in December 2019, see the "Conferences" page on this website.
To receive and administer funds to support the development of innovative justice education, especially in developing countries. This is done primarily through GAJE's Regional Committee.
