GAJE members include law teachers, law students, and others interested in supporting and promoting Justice Education around the world. Eligibility for GAJE membership is based on the organization’s Mission Statement:
GAJE is GLOBAL, seeking to involve persons from as many countries in the world as possible, avoiding domination by any single country, and especially committed to meaningful participation from less affluent countries, institutions, and organizations. GAJE is an ALLIANCE of persons committed to achieving JUSTICE through legal EDUCATION. Clinical education of law students is a key component of justice education, but this organization also works to advance other forms of socially relevant legal education, which includes education of practicing lawyers, judges, non-governmental organizations and the lay public.
The key components of the Mission Statement relevant to obtaining membership are “achieving justice through legal education” and advancing “socially relevant legal education.” Accordingly, applicants for membership must demonstrate:
NOTE: There are two types of GAJE membership: General Member and Voting Member. General Memberships are available to anyone who is interested in supporting and promoting Justice Education around the world, according to the criteria set out above.
